It's A Rogue World feat. Higher Etiquette by Lizzie Post 4.8.25
Hi Paq! Each week we feature a book we're reading, typically a novel, but this week we share an etiquette book on cannabis: Higher Etiquette by house pal, Lizzie Post. We also share a recipe by the famous Post family (Yes- Lizzie is Emily Post's great-great-grand daughter!) as well as our current fashion obsession. Let's go...
Our Current Read: Higher Etiquette by Lizzie Post
Higher Etiquette: A Guide to the World of Cannabis from Dispensaries to Dinner Parties is a thoughtfully assembled book about how to navigate the world respectfully integrating your legalized cannabis ritual. Lizzie explores topics such as how to comport yourself at a dispensary, how to use cannabis when you are a house guest, and how to deal with common pot faux pas. My favorite section is "Five Steps To Handling Difficult Cannabis Conversations." As a people-pleaser, I sometimes struggle to navigate these conversations instead of avoiding them. Lizzie provides a framework for approach that I truly appreciate and employ, Btw, in case you haven't guessed, we adore Lizzie. You can check out our interview with her from 2020 here: FALL IN LOVE WITH LIZZIE

What We're Cooking: The Post's Curry Kebab Marinade
Lizzie is super passionate about food and shared her mom's famous kebab recipe with us. If you like curry flavor, it’s good on every type of meat (especially shrimp and swordfish) and absolutely kills it with veggies.
Curry Kebab Marinade
Blend/process/mince together:
1 medium yellow onion (can use cheese grater if you don’t have a processor)
1 medium lemon
1-2 cloves raw garlic
2 tbsp curry
1 tbsp ginger
1 tbsp coriander
1 tsp kosher salt - some meats and veggies do better with a little more salt, don’t be shy!
Stir in:
1/4 cup olive oil (infused if you like)
Red pepper flakes to taste
Spread generously on your skewered meats and vegetables and grill. (You can attempt to bake/broil this recipe but it’s far far far far far better over open flame.)
Best on: shrimp, swordfish, pork tenderloin, steak, chicken, halloumi cheese
Good veggies: bell peppers, yellow onion, summer squash, zucchini, sweet potato, mushrooms, cauliflower
Our Current Fashion Obsession: Boldrini's Adina Bag
Prepare yourself - this bag will get you stopped in the streets. Something about its shape incites people to talk to you. I've been told mine looks like a: seashell, armadillo, snail, and croissant!
Thanks, as always, for spending your precious time with us. Wishing you a marvelous week! xo Rogue Paq
