It's a Rogue World feat. a Primer On Psilocybin Mushrooms 5.19.25
The first time I tried mushrooms many years ago, I had an epic trip that lasted over 12 hours. It ended in me experiencing an hysterical fit of tears when I learned that a fight at a neighboring party resulted in someone losing an ear! You may've guessed by now and you would be correct - those weren't psilocybin mushrooms but, instead, store-bought mushrooms dipped in acid. I only later figured this out when I tried actual psilocybin mushrooms and the trip was much more mild and lasted only about half as long. So, for those of you interested in mushrooms, we will do a little primer. We will also talk about the book Rules of Civility by Amor Towles, provide an infused (REGULAR) mushroom recipe and share our current fashion obsession. Let's go!

Our Current (Re)Read: Rules of Civility by Amor Towles
When we need a palate refresher, we re-read our favorite books. Near the top of our re-read list is Rules of Civility. This is a novel for those who love a character driven book. It's one of those novels that sweeps you up and keeps you suspended until the final page. You begin in the heart of 1938 New York. The story follows Katey Kontent, a smart, sharp, and endlessly likable young woman whose life changes after a chance meeting with a charming banker. What starts as a quiet job in a typing pool turns into a journey through Manhattan’s dazzling social circles, full of glamour, secrets, and shifting loyalties. Along the way, Katey discovers just how complicated appearances can be—and how the choices we make shape who we become. The story is framed by a haunting photography exhibit years later, giving everything a reflective, almost bittersweet tone. It’s thoughtful, intriguing, and incredibly human.
